A 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being involved in a collision with a car in Leeds.

It happened on Friday, at around 7.30pm, at the Cardigan Road junction with Thornville Road in Hyde Park.

The boy was crossing the road when he was in collision with a Renault Clio which was travelling from the Burley Road direction.

He was taken to hospital where he was treated for fractures to his arm.

And police are today appealing for the driver to come forward.

PC Daniel Ledgeway, from Leeds District Police, said: "We believe this male was driving a vehicle, which was described as being like a Renault Clio.

"He did initially stop at the scene, but left without leaving his details.

"I would ask him to come forward as his information will greatly assist the investigation of this collision."
