Biker killed in crash at Batley

A MOTORCYCLIST was killed in a collision with a car in Batley in the early hours of this morning.

The biker, who was in his twenties, suffered fatal injuries in the incident just after midnight.

It happened at the junction of Bradford Road and Mount Street.

He was riding a Honda motorbike, which was involved in collision with a grey BMW 530 car.

Police said the man was treated by paramedics at the scene, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Sgt Ann Drury, of West Yorkshire Police’s major collision enquiry team, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who has either witnessed the collision itself or the manner of driving of either vehicle prior to the collision.

“Anyone with information is asked to call the major collision enquiry team on 101.”
