Pedals as well as petals are being celebrated at this year’s Harrogate Spring Flower Show.
The popular annual event at the Great Yorkshire Showground, in Harrogate, will feature three life-sized metal cycling sculptures in a special Harrogate Borough Council Grand Depart spring show garden from April 24 to 27.
Forged and fabricated by North East sculptor Graham Anderton, the works will star at the show before finding a permanent home in nearby Knaresborough.
The flower show will host a number of other show gradens as well as displays by more than 100 leading plant nurseries and a Tour de Plants garden guide, themed activities and demonstrations. Children can even sow seeds to help turn Yorkshire yellow.
Show director Nick Smith said: “We are delighted to be showcasing a garden that will become a permanent reminder of the occasion and to be part of the celebrations leading up to one of the biggest sporting events in the world.”
Tickets cost up to £14.50 before April 15 or up to £17 on the gate. Under 16s go free and parking is free. Visit www.flowershow.org.uk or call 01423 546157.
