POLICE have arrested two men in connection with an armed raid at a Wakefield shop.

Officers had been hunting a male suspect who was armed with what was believed to be a shot gun when he allegedly threatened a member of staff and demanded money and cigarettes at a shop in Wrenthorpe just before 9pm on Thursday, August 27.

The suspect fled the store with the stolen goods and is believed to have made off in a vehicle that was driven by another man.

Anyone with information is asked to call Wakefield CID via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
