A giant ethereal figure will shine a light onto the hustle and bustle at Leeds train station this Christmas.
‘Spirit’ is part of Leeds Business Improvement District’s ‘Christmas in Leeds’ campaign and hovers above passengers and commuters as they make their way through the station.
The structure comprises 3,000 LED lights, uses 10km of coloured string, hovers five metres above the concourse and has an overall span of 24m x 14m. ‘Spirit’ has been created by NewSubstance, a UK studio that specialises in bespoke structures. It has previously completed work for Take That, Mumford and Sons and the Beijing Olympics.
