A trio of graduates have organised an alternative alcohol-free night for this year’s new students at Leeds universities.

Billed as Leeds’ first non alcohol night market and club event for freshers, ‘The After Glow’ takes place at Live Art Bistro, on Regent Street, tomorrow night (October 13).

Starting at 7pm, it boasts a DJ, stalls serving vegetarian, vegan and raw food, a ‘dry cocktail bar’, massage, yoga, live acoustic music and dance performances.

Chelsey Needham, who helped organise the event along with fellow University of Leeds’ graduates Santino Collera and Chloe Brotherton, said: “I want change in the University Union Freshers week and in society.

“I believe that if people had an alternative they wouldn’t be leading the unhealthy damaging lifestyles. So I have created the alternative.”

Entry is £9.
