YORKSHIRE-based magicians are trying to cast a spell on the International Olympic Committee - and persuade them to recognise magic.
They want the 'sport' of magic to be recognised as an Olympic sport in time for Beijing, or at the latest at London in 2012.
The driving force trying to conjure up support is the Harrogate Society of Magicians whose head coach Bob McBratney, above, declared: "There is far more to the Olympics than a bit of running. Mr McBratney has written to the International Olympic Committee asking for their support and inviting them to send a delegate to watch local magicians.
