Leeds dancer aims to reach final of TV show
By Paul Robinson
SMOOTH mover Sadie Flower was hoping for a blooming marvellous result today as she prepared for the latest stage of her quest for success on TV's Strictly Dance Fever.
Sadie, from Methley, Leeds, is set to hit the floor in front of
millions of viewers again this evening in the semi-final of the BBC1 show.
She and her dancing partner, Joseph Hall, will go head-to-head with the three other couples still in the competition, performing the waltz and the 70s disco-style hustle.
And in the run-up to the show, Sadie's proud parents David and Sheena were keeping their fingers crossed that their daughter would take another step towards the £50,000 first prize.
David said: "We're quietly confident, but obviously anything can happen on the night.
"Everyone seems to be talking about how she's doing. If local support's anything to go by, then hopefully she should be OK."
A combination of tonight's judges' scores and the votes of the public will deny one couple a place in next Saturday's grand final.
If Sadie and Joseph do make it through, then their fans in Leeds will get the chance to see for themselves what all the fuss is about.
The finalists could be strutting their stuff at the White Rose Centre at 12.30pm on Tuesday as part of a whistle-stop tour of the country.
Strictly Dance Fever's host, Graham Norton, is also expected to join the contestants as they zigzag around the UK.
The show's bosses are stressing, though, that the White Rose event will NOT go ahead if Sadie and Joseph are given their marching orders this evening.
