Football-mad rockers Kaiser Chiefs play their long-awaited homecoming gig at Leeds United's Elland Road ground a week today.
Then, 24 hours later, the city's eyes will turn to Wembley Stadium as United try to clinch promotion glory in the League One play-off final.
And music and football fans alike are already planning to party non-stop over the weekend, knowing they ha
ve Bank Holiday Monday to recover before the return to work.
United diehard Ian De-Whytell, who runs Leeds city centre's Crash Records store, said today: "Elland Road on the Saturday and Wembley on the Sunday – what more can you ask for?"
Self-confessed Kaiser Chiefs 'superfan' Emma Burnell, 26, from Gildersome, said: "The weekend was always going to be special because of the concert.
"Now we've got Wembley to look forward to as well – I can hardly believe it!
"There'll be a few sore heads come Monday, I think.
"If Leeds win, though, no one's going to be complaining."
Council leader Andrew Carter, meanwhile, said the weekend looked set to be a "great one" for the whole city.
Adding his voice to the praise for United's achievement in reaching the final despite being docked 15 points at the start of the season, Coun Carter told the YEP: "They have done magnificently, especially when you consider how harshly they were treated.
"I'm sure the whole city will be cheering them on at Wembley."
Tickets for the big game were due to go on sale to season ticket holders at Elland Road today.
Leeds have been issuing 'don't panic' messages to fans in the hope of avoiding any repeat of the chaotic scenes which marred the build-up to their last play-off final appearance.
Massive queues meant many supporters had to wait several hours to buy their tickets for the game against Watford at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium in 2006.
This time around, United say all season ticket holders and members who registered with the club before May 3 are guaranteed a place at Wembley.
The Whites have been given a 36,000 allocation for their first visit to the spiritual home of English football since 1996. For full details on ticketing arrangements, at www.leedsunited.com
