A WOMAN was thrown to the ground by a robber who snatched car keys and a watch outside her Leeds home.

The 44-year-old had just parked on her driveway in Spennithorne Avenue, West Park, at 11.15pm yesterday when a young man approached her.

He snatched the keys, pulled the woman to the ground and ripped the wristwatch off then ran away towards Leeds Outer Ring Road. The woman was left with minor injuries and was badly shaken.

Police said the robber may have planned to steal the car and woman's screams put him off.

The youth is white, aged 16 to 20, about 5ft 7 ins and slim. He was wearing a grey hoody and dark coloured bottoms.

About an hour earlier a woman walking in Back Brudenell Grove in Hyde Park, Leeds, was attacked by a young, thin, white man also in a grey hoodie. She was pulled to the ground, her bag was snatched and the robber ran off. She suffered minor cuts and bruises.

Police are unable to say whether the two attacks are linked. Anyone with information can ring North West Leeds CID via 0845 6060606.
