THE Government's chief dental officer and professional head of dental staff in England, Barry Cockcroft, has opened the doors at Leeds' first dedicated dental outreach teaching unit inside Beeston Hill Community Health Centre.
Chris Outram, Leeds Primary Care Trust’s (PCT) chief executive, welcomed Mr Cockcroft to the building and guests were invited to take a tour of the new dental facilities.

The centre will provide a high tech dental teaching suite.

Working in partnership, Leeds PCT and Leeds Dental Institute say the centre will deliver enhanced clinical education in a community based setting.

Students qualifying as dentists, dental nurses or dental hygiene therapists will train together.

PCT Special Care Community Dental services are also provided in an adjoining unit, allowing a wide range of dental care to be offered.
