DEVASTATED friends of a Leeds security guard who was stabbed to death are trying to raise cash to repatriate his body for burial in his homeland.
Twenty five-year-old South African-born Lucas Ramabi, of Grasmere Court, Armley, Leeds was killed at the home of his new girlfriend, in Hull, early on Sunday.

Ttwo young daughters of the girlfriend – believed to be aged four and eight – were in the home at the time of the incident, which left Mr Ramabi dead and their mother, Nomusa Muhlwa, injured.

Yesterday, a man appeared in court in Hull charged with murdering Mr Ramabi, who worked for Group Four Security.

Etiene Vidal Puna, 22, of Hardy Street, West Hull, also faces a charge of grievous bodily harm in relation to an assault on Ms Muhlwa, at her home in Selset Way, Kingswood, Hull.

Puna, was remanded in custody to appear at Hull Crown Court on November 14.

Mr Ramabi's flatmate, Happy Glad, 23, said Lucas had moved to the UK four years ago. "He was a great guy and will be sadly missed", he told the YEP.

He said Lucas had been introduced by a friend to the woman he was visiting in Hull only a week ago. "He went on Saturday and was staying the night there", he added. "We got to know what happened when a cousin came to tell us on Sunday. It is terrible."

A close friend, Komi Mosho, 25, said that it was tradition for South Africans to be buried in their homeland and they were trying to raise funds to send Lucas's body home.

He added that Lucas's family all lived in Johannesburg, in South Africa.
Mr Ramabi is understood to have died at the scene. A post-mortem has been carried out, but officers are still struggling to trace relatives of the dead man.

His partner and daughters aged eight and four, are being looked after by specially trained officers at a safe house in another part of the country.

Lucas was a great guy. Have known him since we were 7yrs old(grew up&played together) and he though he was a naughty boy, he's always been friendly & loving. My 1st love, friend, brother, the 1 person who truely knew&understood me- now is no-more.He didn't deserve to die like that or any1 for that matter but he it says:"u live by the sword, u die by the sword"so the guy who did this will not go unpunished no matter how long it takes! A part of me has been stripped but Babyboy, though u gone i'll still carry u in my spirit! love always Faith
