Missing Leeds girl found

A teenager missing from her Leeds home for more than a fortnight has been found safe and well thanks to a Yorkshire Evening Post appeal.
Kelly McGowan,13, from East Park View, East End Park, Leeds, was found by police at an address in the Lincoln Green area of the city on Saturday after an anonymous call to police.

Kelly had left her home on the morning of Wednesday April 23 and failed to return home .

A pupil of Lawnswood High School, Kelly had failed to arrived for lessons that day and had not attended school subsequently.

There had been sightings of Kelly in the Leeds area since her disappearance and the last had been on Wednesday last week when she was seen by a school friend at Morrisons store at the Merrion Centre in Leeds. Previously she was spotted near to the premises of Primark in The Headrow in Leeds city centre on May 4 between 3pm and 3.30pm.

On that occasion she was recognised by a friend who was unaware that she had already been reported missing from home.

Kelly had gone disappeared in the past, but police felt she was vulnerable and were eager to locate her quickly for her own safety.
