A 20-year-old man is facing court today charged with the murder of a shopkeeper who was beaten to death during an alleged robbery at his store.
* Click here to sign up to free news and sport email alerts from your YEP.Umare Aslam, from the Dalton area of Huddersfield, is appearing before the town's magistrates' court accused of the murder and robbery of Gurmail Singh.
* Click here to follow the YEP on Twitter.Mr Singh, 63, died from head injuries after he was struck at least nine times with a weapon, believed to be a hammer, in the shop in the Cowcliffe area of Huddersfield, on February 20.
A man and three teenagers have already appeared in court charged with the murder of Mr Singh and robbery.

* Click here for latest YEP news and sport picture slideshows.Earlier this week an A-level student admitted at Huddersfield Youth Court robbing Mr Singh two days before he fatally attacked.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with robbing Mr Singh of cigarettes at his store on February 18.
Police said Mr Singh came to the UK in 1963. He leaves a wife, two adult sons and a daughter. He celebrated his 63rd birthday the day before he died.
