AN evening of glitz and glamour helped raised thousands of pounds for a Leeds charity.
The fashion show last night at the city's Alea casino at Clarence Dock was staged in aid of Phys-Cap, which buys specialist equipment for children with physical disabilities.
Around 120 guests, including Leeds Lord Mayor Judith Elliott, attended, raising around £4,000.
There were some familiar faces on the catwalk, too – some of the cast of Yorkshire TV soap Emmerdale were models.
The clothes were from Harvey Nichols, hair by Leeds's Ego salon and choreography by Francesca MacDuff-Varley of Leeds-based A-list.
The charity's patron Sir Michael Parkinson, along with Leeds-born author Barbara Taylor-Bradford recorded special voiceovers for the show.
Physcap is also raising £200,000 for a play area at Temple Newsam park. Anyone who would like to make a donation can contact the charity at www.physcap.org.
