AN 82-year-old man seriously injured when he was hit by a car which mounted the pavement has died.
The pensioner was walking on Church Lane in Cross Gates, Leeds, at 3.10pm on Wednesday when he was hit by a grey Toyota Aygo.

Police say it is unclear why the vehicle, which was travelling towards Manston Avenue, left the road and hit the 82-year-old and another pedestrian on the pavement.

The elderly man was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with serious injuries but died later in the evening.

The other injured man, who is in his 20s, suffered minor injuries.

Any witnesses to the collision should contact PC 1791 Trevor Kell at Killingbeck Road Traffic Police via 0845 6060606.
