Knifepoint robbery at Ackworth

TERRIFIED staff at an Ackworth store were tied up and threatened at knifepoint by a robber.

The robbery happened at a store on Wakefield Road, Ackworth on Thursday night at 10.10pm.

A man entered the store through an entrance at the back of the shop.
He threatened staff with a knife before tying them up in a store cupboard and emptying a safe and removing a large quantity of cash.

Apart from the staff, the shop was empty at the time.

The robber is described as a white male, 6 ft 2 inches tall, wearing a dark coat and a balaclava. He also had a shiny black drawstring bag.
