An unemployed painter and decorator was found hanged at his Leeds home just hours after being released from police custody.
David Brady, 36, had been arrested in the early hours of Saturday, August 23 for breach of bail, a Leeds inquest heard.

Mr Brady, who had a history of depression and alcoholism, was taken to Leeds Bridewell where he self-harmed.

He was seen by a medic before going to Leeds Magistrates Court later that morning where he was released.

At 5pm, Mr Brady's father went to pick him up from his home on Holborn Gardens, Woodhouse, as arranged.

He went into the flat and found Mr Brady's body hanging from a boiler.

An inquest which opened into his death yesterday, found the cause of death to be hanging.

West Yorkshire Police's Professional Standards Department has launched a probe into his death.

The inquest was adjourned.
