IMAGINE every radio station in the world playing Bob Marley's One Love at the same time.
It may sound a little ambitious, but a Leeds entertainer believes it is achievable.
Jason Pennycooke, of Chapeltown, is one of four men petitioning radio DJs across the globe to play One Love at 9.21am and 9.21 pm GMT on September 21 to mark World Peace Day.
The singer and choreographer wants to use the power of music to reach across borders and boundaries and unite the world in the mutual plea for peace.
He and a group of friends from several countries are rallying support through Facebook and MySpace.
In the first 24 hours it was set up 2,400 people joined their Facebook web page.
And within three and a half weeks they had 11,500 members.
They have also enlisted Yoko Ono as global ambassador, above.
Jason is working with friends Mark Skelton, Ward Parry and Lee Waterworth to launch a company called OneLovefor...music.
He says its goal is to harness the power of creativity to tackle the growing social conflicts in the world.
Jason said: "The global community has never been so connected, and so informed.
"This 'tapped in' demographic shows there is a need for a more positive dynamic, and the feedback is people believe it can happen. We believe it will happen."
Emotive
But not many radio stations share his initial enthusiasm – only two have signed up so far. He said many of them are waiting for one station to take the first step, but he will keep trying.
"All we are trying to achieve is a global thought process and awareness.
"As music is the most emotive and universal of languages, we are using this to achieve our goal."
Lee Waterworth added: "Our goal is to show the world that people of all races, creeds and cultural background can unite, if even for just a short time, and that each and every one of us can have an impact on promoting peace, love and harmony."
