The petite 19-year-old was picked out from almost 14,000 entrants to appear in lads' magazine FHM's High Street Honeys 2009 competition.

Just 100 lovely ladies were chosen by judges to compete for the £10,000 first prize and a place in a special booklet which came free with the magazine's latest edition.

NHS clerical worker Rachel, from Mirfield, is hoping to make the final with the help of her northern admirers who can vote her into the top 10.

She said: "I couldn't believe it when FHM rang to say I'd got through to the final 100.

"I thought 'My God, I'm going to be in a magazine on all the shelves in the shops'.
"It's every girl's dream to be in front of a camera. It can lead to so many things in the media.

"My idol is Katie Price (also known as Jordan). I just love the way she can put her hand to anything. She's a really good businesswoman as well as a glamour model."

The softly-spoken teenager was first spotted as a student at Mirfield Free Grammar.

College IT technician Tim Wilson, who is now a friend, offered his services as an amateur photographer and the pair set about creating a portfolio and setting up a website.
Ironically it wasn't one of the 28-year-old's snaps that caught the FHM judges' eyes.

Rachel said: "My friend Mez -– Mehreen Yosauf – took the picture of me which appeared in the magazine.
"I wasn't going to do topless but my bra and knickers didn't match and Mez just said 'whip your top off'. I covered myself with my arms, though, as I don't want to reveal any more than that."

The 5ft-tall cutie who has 10 GCSEs Grades A to C and an NVQ Level 2 in hairdressing hopes the exposure will be a springboard into a new career.

She said: "I'd like to go into television and part of the prize is training to be a presenter.]

"I did have breast implants when I was 18, but that was nothing to do with wanting to be a model.

"It was more for my confidence and I wanted to be able to go out and wear backless tops.

"I saved up a big deposit then paid 0 per cent finance for the first year to have the operation."

Mum Sue and dad Andy, both 45, are right behind their youngest daughter along with sister Sarah-Jayne who runs her own keep fit business, Princess Poledancing, where Rachel sometimes helps out.

She said: "We're all very proud of her."
