POLICE are appealing for help to trace a woman in connection with an attack on a taxi driver in Leeds.
The driver suffered cuts to his nose after being hit in the face in a dispute over a fare.
On Sunday, February 1 the driver picked up a young woman outside a property on Willow Avenue, Burley, Leeds, at around 2pm.
The driver was asked to drive to Rossington Avenue, Roundhay, stopping en route at a petrol station on Roundhay Road.
When they reached the destination the driver and the passenger had a disagreement over the fare.
The woman refused to pay, so the taxi driver said that he would have to inform the police.
Swelling
The passenger then struck the driver with her handbag, cutting his nose.
She tried to hit him with it again but he managed to put his arms up taking the bag away from her.
She then punched him in the face causing a swelling under his eye.
The woman is described as black, about 18-years-old, slim, with black hair.
She was wearing a red dress with a jacket over the top.
Anyone with information should ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
