Ex-Emmerdale star's £10,000 Alzheimer boost

Ex-Emmerdale star Verity Rushworth has handed over £10,000 to the Alzheimer's Research Trust.

The actress, who played Donna Dingle in the soap, raised the cash
through her
appearance on BBC1's game show Hole in the Wall.

Her donation would pay for 800 hours research or could provide vital equipment in the laboratory.

Trust chief executive Rebecca Wood said: "We're so excited Verity chose to support the trust and this fantastic donation will be put straight to work supporting our scientists in their journey towards a cure for dementia."
