The actor, who plays Ashley Thomas in the Yorkshire soap, opened the new natural history exhibition in the Merrion Centre.

Visitors can learn about creepy crawlies, dinosaurs and fossils as organisers aim to take history to a new and different audience.
Stretch director Carlotta Goulden said: "As a result of the recession there are a lot of empty shop fronts and we felt this was a great way to use the space and change the way people interact with the cultural community."
