Your Tributes to Wakefield RL legend Don Fox, who has died aged 72.
Don, who also played for Featherstone Rovers, is best remembered for missing a last-minute conversion for Wakefield in the famous 1968 'watersplash' Challenge Cup final against Leeds.

Your tributes to Don Fox

I am so sad today hearing the news that Don has passed away. From the age of eight years old I supported Featherstone Rovers, and at that young age I knew he was something special, not the fastest player in the world but with his unbelievable rugby brain he was head and shoulders above other players to become one of the all time greats.

He was my life long hero, even above Muhammad Ali. I had the honour of playing against him a few times when he was near the end of his carrier, and he was a true sporting gentleman and always had time to give me advice on my game when ever I asked .

Goodbye Don I will never forget you. R.I.P.

Dave Garbett
