A hunting dog shot his owner dead after stepping on the trigger of a shotgun.
Perry Alvin Price died in a hospital from severe blood loss after the accident in south-east Texas.

Police said Mr Price ,46, was hunting near Stowell, about 60 miles east of Houston, when he shot a goose.

Mr Price put the gun in the back of his truck and was about to open the tailgate to release his dog when the shotgun fired. The blast penetrated the tailgate and hit Mr Price in the thigh.

Paw prints from the dog, a chocolate labrador retriever named Arthur, were found on the muddy shotgun.
