AS Dirty Harry, he was one of the silver screen's most famous detectives.
But next week it will be Clint Eastwood's son hoping you'll make his day.

Accomplished jazz musician and noted film music composer Kyle Eastwood will be performing in Leeds for one night only.

Kyle, who plays the electric bass, upright acoustic and double bass, will appear on Wednesday with his band at Leeds College of Music's The Venue as part of its spring concert season.

Eastwood's eldest son credits his superstar father for introducing him to jazz and the bass.

In 2004 he signed to Candid Records for whom he has recorded two critically acclaimed CDs, Paris Blue and Now.

Kyles's work for the cinema includes contributions to the score of Mystic River and three pieces of music for the 2004 blockbuster Million Dollar Baby – which starred his father, Hilary Swank and Morgan Freeman, and which went on to win four Academy Awards.

He has recently been working with his father on two film projects, Flags of Our Fathers and Red Sun Black Sand.

Kyle told the Yorkshire Evening Post he was looking forward to coming to Leeds.

He said: "I'm really excited to play in the UK.

"I haven't been here for a year or so and it's always good to come back.

"We've already done the Derry Festival in Northern Ireland and Ronnie Scott's in London.

"Leeds is going to be the last date on the tour, so we're hoping to go out with a bang."

The college's director of development, David Warren, said: "We're delighted to welcome such a versatile musician to The Venue – one who is equally at home composing scores for Oscar-winning films or topping the jazz charts.

"Kyle's blend of popular jazz, funk, R'n'B and soul is sure to appeal to fans of Jamie Cullum's bassist, Geoff Gascoigne, and Sting's guitarist, Dominic Miller."

The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets can be booked on the website – www.lcm.ac.uk – or bought from the box office on 0113 222 3434.
