Bus station death man: details revealed

AN ELDERLY man died after being knocked down at Leeds City Bus Station.

The 79-year-old victim, from Rothwell, was hit by a double decker bus at about 2pm on Tuesday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The station, on York Street in Leeds city centre, was temporarily closed while police carried out investigations.

Dozens of firefighters and a major rescue unit attended the incident.

Witnesses are asked to contact Holbeck police on 0113 241 4659.
