RUSH-hour commuters were this morning grappling with delays caused by a lane closure on a key city centre road in Leeds.
The closure brought the outbound carriageway of the A643 Ingram Distributor to a virtual standstill by 8am.

The distributor runs between the Armley Gyratory and junction 2 of the M621, near Leeds United's Elland Road ground.

The cause of the lane closure was reported to be a collapsed manhole cover.

Additional problems were caused by an accident at junction 1 of the M621's eastbound carriageway.
