Arrests follow girl's death at Huddersfield hospital

THE death of a child in hospital has sparked a major inquiry, and a man and a woman have been arrested and charged.


The two-year-old girl, who is believed to have suffered a large number of injuries, died in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary on Thursday.

A 21-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were due to appear at Huddersfield Magistrates Court today charged with causing grievous bodily harm to a child and neglect.

The couple are believed to come from the Riddings Road area of Sheepridge, Huddersfield.

Police were called to the hospital by medical staff at about 11.30pm on Thursday.
