Leeds Indie Food Festival is back from May 12 to 30.

We’ve picked five events that promise to serve up something different for food fans in the city.

REAL JUNK FOOD PROJECT: Diners pay what they want for a meal made with salvaged, unused ingredients at The Brunswick on May 25.

WHITELOCK’S: Tuck into a Victorian banquet by candlelight at Leeds’s oldest pub. The event starts at 6.30pm on May 15 and tickets cost £35.

SCHOOL DINER: Chapel Allerton Primary School is hosting a menu of international street food, music, art and activities on May 13 and 14.

COFFEE: Leeds roasters Pump ‘n’ Grind will blindfold guests before they get to taste a variety of coffee and food at Cafe 164 at Munro House on May 21.

CITY OF CAKE: The Tattooed Bakers will create the city’s best-known buildings entirely out of cake. Grab a fork at Trinity Leeds from May 13 to 20.
