terrific tractors, stunning steam engines, immaculate motors and a host of other vintage vehicles ensured an annual community gala was revving to the max.

The Otley Vintage Transport Extravaganza returned yesterday with a fabulous feast of motoring marvels.

The annual fundraising showcase, which has been running for several years, attracted hundreds of enthusiasts to Knotford Nook in Pool Road.

Among the highlights was a 1951 Jowett Bradford Deluxe, and a vibrant and colourful ‘heavy transport’ section.

Other attractions included fairground organs, motorcycles, military vehicles and more.

The day also included a car boot sale, brass bands, children’s amusements, majorettes, a rodeo bull, a Punch and Judy show and a host of other family-friendly activities.

All profits from this year’s event will go to the Otley-based ‘Hang on to a Dream’ charity, which raises money to help fulfil the dreams of terminally and seriously ill children.

The charity has helped scores of children since it was set up in 1997, with fulfilled wishes including a trip to Disney Land, a visit to Liverpool football club and even the landscaping of a garden.
