National One club Widnes Vikings have signed half-back Anthony Thackeray, after he was released from the final year of his contract with Castleford Tigers.
The 22-year-old joined Tigers from Hull midway through 2007, but failed to gain a regular first team place this year and finished the season on loan at Featherstone Rovers.

Thackeray said: "Things weren't working out at Castleford, but when I came over to Widnes I couldn't believe the set-up, it was so professional."
