Soul Jazz Showcase

September 26 @ Smokestack

IT'S a record label that has led where others have followed, dusting off thousands of lost gems from around the world and bringing them to a whole new audience.

Its extensive porfolio covers everything from funk to reggae, hip-hop to jazz, disco to afro beat. Now Soul Jazz is bringing its soundsystem DJs and MC Oxman to Leeds.

Expect non-stop party vibes from the label that brought us the 100% Dynamite albums, New Orleans Funk, Tropicalia, Big Apple Rappin' and Nu Yorica Roots when they visit Smokestack tomorrow.

On October 10 it's the turn of former Portishead DJ Andy Smith to man the decks at the Lower Briggate venue.
