Michael McIndoe scored twice against his former side as Bristol City beat Doncaster at Ashton Gate to claim their first home league win of the season.
Playing against his former employers for the first time, McIndoe, put the Robins in front from the spot three minutes after half-time and Nicky Maynard doubled their lead soon after.

Ivan Sproule's fine turn and finish looked to have made the gam
e safe but Richie Wellens pulled a goal back before McIndoe made the game safe with a powerful effort 16 minutes from time.

The home side made a lively start and McIndoe crossed for Dele Adebola who was unable to direct his header on target. McIndoe was looking lively down the left and he burst into the box but dragged the shot wide.

The visitors gradually found their rhythm and Lewis Guy got through after capitalising on a mistake by Bradley Orr but he dragged the shot into the side netting under pressure from Louis Carey.

Doncaster began to dominate and Weale did well to save from Coppinger before blocking a shot from the same player just minutes later.

Robins boss Gary Johnson brought Marvin Elliott on for Bradley Orr at half-time and the substitute had an immediate impact as he played in Maynard who was brought down by Sullivan.

McIndoe stepped up to take the resulting penalty and smashed the ball down the centre of the goal to give the Robins the lead. With 57 minutes gone the home side deservedly doubled their lead when Maynard played a neat one-two with Sproule before finishing well past Sullivan.

Four minutes later Sproule turned Gareth Roberts superbly and squeezed the shot in at the near post.

On 69 minutes Coppinger cut the ball back for Wellens who drove a precise shot past Weale.

But five minutes later McIndoe powered in a left-foot shot from 20 yards and although James O'Connor and Wellens both went close it was too little, too late for Rovers.
