Deciding on a career can be a challenging decision but one university graduate is laying solid foundations for his future with UK housebuilder and construction company, Miller Group

Dan Steer, 26, from Nottingham and now living in Leeds, embarked on a two year graduate training programme with the company at the end of 2012.

He will be working with the Miller Homes team in Yorkshire, experiencing the sales strategies of Miller’s house building division.

“I’ve always had a strong interest in property and construction so I was delighted when I secured a place as a graduate trainee,” said Dan.

“The two year programme allows me to spend six months in the key areas such as Miller construction, land and acquisition, Miller Homes and then six months on site gaining practical knowledge, which should then leave me ideally placed to secure a long term career in the industry.”

Whilst Dan is working with Miller Homes Yorkshire he will gain valuable experience into all angles of building new homes in the region - from land acquisition to handing over the keys to a proud new owner.

“Our graduate training scheme gives a fantastic insight into every aspect of our business and we are delighted to welcome Dan to the Miller Homes team in Yorkshire,” said Steve McElroy sales director Miller Homes North. “We wish him continued success both whilst he is with us and for his future career.”

Dan graduated from Nottingham Trent University and subsequently gained a Masters in Entrepreneurship from Nottingham University. He is due to complete his graduate training scheme in the autumn of 2014.

Miller Homes currently has thirteen developments across the region with a wide selection of properties including contemporary apartments, family homes and executive detached properties.
