A historic manor house in Yorkshire has been restored and renovated to become the most technologically advanced ‘smart home’ in the UK.

The £1 million show house features not only the very latest gadgets currently on the market, but also incorporates the world’s finest audio, cinema, lighting, security, IT and telecoms systems. The technology allows an iPad or iPhone to operate lighting, electric blinds, gate entry, CCTV, security alarms and heating.

The property even has a perimeter security barrier heat detection system.

Technology from the likes of Bower & Wilkins, Sonos, Crestron and Lutron is seamlessly combined with beautiful furniture and art to stunning effect, designed to blow the mind and stimulate imagination for anyone that visits.

The Manor House in Leeds was purchased by home technology specialists Finite Solutions so that they could demonstrate what is possible with home automation and how it can integrate with everyday life.

The variety of technologies installed allows them to demonstrate systems from £5,000 up to £250,000+.

Jaw dropping features include a fully fitted out basement cinema room complete with surround sound and tiered seating and a number of hidden TV screens that magically appear from behind panel walls and picture frames. The room comes complete with movie theatre-style seats and a screen big enough to impress just about anyone.

Whole house lighting is also 100 per cent LED using zero energy.

Simon Mathieson, Director at Finite Solutions, said, “We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of cutting edge technology and our clients depend on us to advise them about advances that can help to future proof their investment.

It helps significantly if we can showcase the technology in operation and so we have invested heavily to complete our show house to the highest specification.

“The historic nature of the house also helps to demonstrate how new technology can be integrated into older properties that may present restrictions and aesthetic challenges.

Our ‘smart home’ remains true to its elegant heritage but delivers against futuristic requirements.”

Finite Solutions was established in Leeds ten years ago and has since grown to become one of the UK’s most successful businesses in the sector with 12 coveted industry awards under its belt.

It has completed home technology solutions for a number of national and international properties range from simple integration jobs to half million pound whole house installations.
