A NEWLY built retirement development in the Aire Valley village of Steeton, that offers a new concept in retirement living with completely flexible ownership arrangements, is proving to be a major success.

Currergate Mews is an exclusive development consisting of just 14 two bedroom houses, which have been developed by West Yorkshire based Czajka Care Group.

The properties are available to buy, rent or purchase on shared equity terms.

The development is next to Czajka Care Group’s Currergate Nursing Home and residents can take advantage of all its amenities including restaurant, meal delivery services, domestic team, 24 hour a day care and maintenance staff.

In addition, Czajka Care Group will buy back the homes of any residents at Currergate Mews who eventually decide to move into Currergate Nursing Home and one of the first buyers at the development has already taken advantage of this service.

Konrad Czajka, managing director of Czajka Care Group, explained the benefits of living at the development.

She said: “When we initially designed this development we were keen to offer anyone over the age of 55 as much independence or support as they wanted.

“The development sits in Currergate Nursing Home’s four acres of mature grounds and residents can take advantage of its wide range of services, which gives them peace of mind that help is available should they need it.

“Another key aim was to create an offering that gives a level of security, so residents know that if the time comes for them to move into a nursing home, they can do so without having the usual stress of having to sell their home because we simply buy their property back.

“This has proved to be a major attraction and our first resident has just taken advantage of this service after deciding that living alone was becoming too much.

“Once they’d made the decision they were able to make the move within a matter of weeks and saved themselves many of the complications that often come with such a move.”

All the homes at Currergate Mews are built using Yorkshire Stone and are finished to an exceptional standard with contemporary kitchens, high quality carpets, door entry security systems, allocated parking, landscaped gardens and intruder alarms.

Currergate Mews is located close to the centre of Steeton village and just half a mile from the train station which offers easy access to Skipton, Leeds and Bradford.

The remaining homes are priced at £249,995.

Shared ownership starts at £125,000 or the properties can be let for £1,100 per calendar month.
