A property in the Roundhay area of Leeds which is appearing in a new feature length film had a starring role at the recent Auction House West Yorkshire sale.

The two bedroom ground floor flat in Roevale Court, off Street Lane, is one of the locations in the movie ‘Gloves Off’ and follows the fortunes of a former boxer attempting to raise money to save his local gym. The all-star cast includes Ricky Tomlinson, Denise Van Outen and Alexei Sayle.

The flat is used as the fictional home of ‘Albert’, played by Paul Barber, better known as ‘Denzil’ in the classic comedy Only Fools and Horses. The star property went under the hammer at the sale at Elland Road stadium with a guide price of £60,000 to £70,000 and was finally sold for £96,000 following competitive bidding.

James Pank, Director and Auctioneer at Auction House West Yorkshire says: “There was plenty of interest in this lot which was reflected in the price achieved. It occupies an excellent position in one of Leeds’ most popular suburbs and its status as a film set clearly added to its appeal.”

Auction House West Yorkshire sold 39 (80 per cent) of the 49 lots offered at its September event, generating proceeds of over £3.4m.

In total the national Auction House franchise has just passed the 2,000 lots sold milestone for 2015, and has done so two weeks earlier than last year.

Mr Pank said: “‘We are seeing a real resurgence of interest in renovation projects, as more local buyers search out properties to refurbish.”

The next auction will takes place at Elland Road stadium on October 21, 2pm. Visit auctionhouse.uk.net
