HOMEBUYERS in Leeds and across Yorkshire have fired the starting gun in the traditional race to move into new properties by Christmas.

According to the residential sales and letting agents, Linley & Simpson, now heralds the start of the hunt for homes not just with the X-Factor - but with the “X-mas Factor” too.

Typical of the new properties that homebuyers are targeting are those created as part of the Willow Bridge Lane development in the sought-after village of Dalton between Thirsk and Ripon and close to both the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales.

Only nine plots are currently on offer for sale – and one of which is already sold. The four and five-bedroomed detached properties are being developed by Knaresborough-based Whitfield Homes.

The appeal of the new development amongst buyers has been bolstered by record-low mortgage rates; the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, which can allow purchasers to buy with as little as 5 per cent deposit; and growing opportunities for a part exchange, which is available on selected plots.

Each available property comes with all the benefits of new-build homes – including the NHBC Buildmark warranty and the latest technological efficiencies that drive down running costs so every pound of investment goes further.

“The countdown to moving into a new home by Christmas has been triggered,” said David Waddington, joint Head of Linley & Simpson’s Land, New Homes and Development division.

“Come October, people’s focus traditionally switches to buying or selling a property - and making the move in time for the next big break at Christmas and the New Year.

“For those with their heart set on a brand new home with the X-Factor, as well as the ‘X-mas Factor’, then October offers them a late window of opportunity to kick-start the buying process in good time for the festive season.”

He added: “Whitfield Homes, a sister company of Wharfedale Homes, has a proven track record forbuilding beautifully-crafted, high quality housing developments in prime locations – and this site at Dalton adds to this reputation.
