A Leeds estate and letting agent has brought in an apprentice to join its growing team.

Shay Ellis, 16, has joined Diamond Properties, which has an office in Hyde Park.

Mandip Sehmi, the firm’s managing director, said: “Diamond Properties is going from strength to strength as our property portfolio continues to develop. Part of our success means we need to increase our team and we felt the time was right to set up an apprenticeship scheme that would allow the opportunity for an apprentice to earn and learn, gaining a valued qualification whilst benefiting from actual job experience.”

Shay, who was placed at the firm by apprenticeship provider Positive Outcomes. joined the firm at the beginning of February and is studying for a Residential Letting and Property Management Level 2 qualification.

She said: “I’ve absolutely loved my apprenticeship so far. It’s really been great.”
