It was a case of Bellway to the ‘rescue’ at its The Limes development in Crossgates, after a Leeds family had the sale on their existing property fall through, just days after they had put down a deposit for their new home.

Janine Smith and her husband Steven, thought they had sold their three bedroom semi-detached home and after some good old house-hunting discovered a four bedroom detached property at The Limes, which was just up their street.

But no sooner had they paid a deposit and begun packing, the buyer of their home decided not to go ahead with the purchase of their home, forcing the Smiths into a state of panic.

Moving house can be one of the most stressful things people do in their lives and the fact was not lost on the couple, who had their hearts set on their new home.

The decision by their prospective buyers not to progress with the sale came as a shock.

Janine, a teacher at a local primary school, said: “Obviously this really threw us – we were all ready to move and it seemed our dream had been cut short and our deposit money lost.”

But there was a silver lining to the cloud of despair the couple found themselves in after housebuilder Bellway stepped in at the last minute to help save the day.

Luckily, Bellway’s sales advisor for the development, Linda Wray, stepped in to help, offering the couple, who have three daughters, with an even better offer than they had previously.

She explained: “Moving house is a stressful event at the best of times, so we had to sympathise with the Smiths when the sale of their home fell through.

“To help combat the problem, save their deposit money and keep things moving, we offered them a part exchange deal, which meant they were then able to buy an even better Bellway home than first planned!”

The Smiths, who bought a four bedroom detached home at The Limes, which features large family spaces, a kitchen/ diner with French doors leading onto the garden and a garage, moved into their new home within six weeks of the deal.

“We cannot praise Bellway and Linda enough – they rescued us!

“We are living in our dream home and it’s all thanks to them.”

“The staff made sure things ran as smoothly and quickly as possible, – and helped turned disaster into delight.”

An ideal development for families, The Limes is located just off Manston Lane in Crossgates. It is within easy reach of both Leeds city centre, and the numerous local facilities in Crossgates, which include schools, The Arndale Shopping Centre, a host of high street retailers, Colton Retail Park and the new upcoming Thorpe Park project.
