A talented teenager chef has landed a job at one of the world’s most famous hotels.
Michael Lalousis, 19, is now working as a commis chef in the kitchens of The Savoy in London – and is loving every minute.
The former pupil at Mirfield’s Castle Hall Academy, has just finished his NVQ in professional cookery at Kirklees College.
He said: “Towards the end of my course the tutor asked if anyone would be interested in taking up a week’s work experience at The Savoy in London.
“I jumped at the chance and though it was hard work I thoroughly enjoyed it.
“At the end, the head chef said he’d like to offer me a full time job as a commis chef. I was really happy to accept.”
Michael has now relocated from Mirfield to London.
