Booths supermarket launches its ‘Great Northern Christmas’ range.
Booths is rightly proud of its Northern heritage. Since 1847, the fine food and drink retailer has tracked down the finest suppliers, helped to support local farmers and brought some of the region’s great forgotten foods back to our plates. This year Booths is offering the definitive Great Northern Christmas to gourmands across Britain, offering nationwide delivery.
Booths CEO and food lover Chris Dee has selected his Top 10 Great Northern Christmas must-haves from the Booths Christmas Book below.

1. REG JOHNSON’S GOOSNARGH GOOSE

5. HERDWICK MUTTON AND LAMB
We’re proud to be the only major retailer to stock Herdwick mutton. These rare-breed sheep roam free over the high Cumbrian fells, nibbling on heather, herbs and grasses, which gives their meat a rich, herby flavour and delicate texture. This ancient breed is best cooked as it was reared - slowly. Try roasting it in a low oven studded with spikes of rosemary and garlic or simmer gently in a rich stew till the meat falls off the bone.
