It’s fast becoming a Yorkshire tradition to pay a festive visit to Stockeld Park’s Christmas Adventure.
And it’s not just Yorkshire folk, judging by the range of accents from the North West and North East this year.
There’s nothing quite like wrapping up in your big winter coat, complete with ridiculously big winter hat, and heading out into the frosty air.
Add in some truly festive atmosphere, an enchanted forest and maybe even ice skating and Nordic skiing and you’ve got a fab festive day out.
With loads of parking and only a few minutes out of Wetherby, the attraction gives you several options of things to do – you can grab a single activity ticket or save money by buying a day pass.
The Enchanted Forest is a leisurely walk among the towering trees with a host of sculptures, brought to life with light and sound – plus interactive activities along the way for the kids to tap, whack, press and explore.
Particular highlights are the giant teacup slide and illuminated lake.
If you’re feeling energetic you can strap on skis and head through the forest on the Nordic ski trail.
Or blade-up and hit the massive ice rink and pretend – like I suspect many do – that you’re on dancing on ice!
A tip for those wanting to see Santa is to get there early and grab a ticket as the waiting time can be up to a few hours – that way you can enjoy the attractions and then go see the big man.
