Have your say

So ok, it’s Halloween which means many of us all pile down the supermarket and buy a small pumpkin and have a stab at creative carving.

But where’s the fun in that? Why not really get into the spirit of the scary season, grab your broom and head down to Farmer Copleys where you can delve into the fields and pick your very own giant pumpkin.

Their specimens are fantastic – great colour, firm texture and they basically just look the part.

It’s worth getting there early doors to make the most of it all.

To make sure you’re well fuelled up, grab some hearty Yorkshire breakfast in the Moo Café before heading up to the fields.

It’s simple - hop aboard The Pumpkin Express tractor for a fun ride and then go picking!

Once you’ve found the special one, head to the tents and get creative. Top tip is to ask for one of their special carving kits so you can scoop out the seeds to create your grinning, gruesome ghoul.

If the young ones are getting restless by that point, check out the spooky story time led by one of the several friendly witches dressed in full garb.

Or have a ride in the unique red tractor trailer – hand crafted by Amish carpenters in Pennsylvania especially for Copleys!

There’s even a corn cannon you can use to sniper witches and other spooky characters, duck racing and a pumpkin rodeo which brave visitors can ride like a bull.

Given the time of year, definitely pack a pair of as the kids will love jumping in the muddy puddles.
