New underground bar in Leeds city centre

Have your say

A new urban and underground bar in Leeds has opened its doors.

The Pit on Merrion Street, in the Northern Quarter of Leeds, serves traditional American-style food, and cocktails by ex- London’s Savoy manager Declan Mcgurk.

Inspired by the old mining days, the Pit has a concrete curved bar, original brick and exposed beams and oak and steel furniture handcrafted by local blacksmiths.

The Den is home to two custom-made ping pong tables whilst the White Room is more refined and will be used for private parties, dinner and cocktail master classes.

The new city centre bar is owned by Arc Inspirations, which also owns The Box and The Arc in Headingley.

The company hopes to open two more bars in 2014.
