GIG PREVIEW: Motion Theory
Formed by students at Durham University, Motion Theory are a four-piece alternative rock band who have just recorded their debut album.
Called Featherhead, it is a robust affair in the vein of the Red Hot Chili Peppers that was recorded at the university's own studio in June.
Said 20-year-old drummer, and album engineer, Will Souter: "We think we've produced some really high quality songs and a fantastic product which more than stands up with more established bands' work."
Added frontman Dom Main, 21: "It's taken us a while to develop our own style but we're pretty excited because we think now we have the right sound – it is musically quite original but it also seems to make a lot of people happy. We can't wait to take it on tour."
The band play at the The Primrose on Meanwood Road tomorrow. Admission on the door.
