Let's review the domestic football season now that it's finally over.
Apart from the shocks in the FA Cup and the fact that four British managers got their teams to the semi-finals, it has to be said it's been dull in the extreme, a season that will be remembered for the stupid antics on and off the pitch.

On the p
itch, England's failure to qualify for Euro 2008 because they aren't good enough.

Martin Taylor's "badly timed" tackled on Eduardo.

Ashley Cole's show of extreme petulance in turning his back on the referee.

John Terry bawling like a spoilt child because he slipped on some wet grass in the "English" Champions League Final – well, if you take out two thirds of the players, the coaching staff, the owners and the sponsors then, yes, I suppose it was all- English.

Off the pitch, Alex Ferguson saying that the FA Cup still holds "a special magic" for all players involved. This was the same man who withdrew his team from the competition not so long ago to go on a money- spinning trip to the other side of the world.

Joey Barton getting sent to prison.

Booze-fuelled Rangers fans attacking a policeman in Manchester.

The FA's constant on/off dithering over wether to develop Burton as a national academy, a must if there is any hope of nurturing young talent.

But the final words must go to a couple of Leeds United fans.

Stubbsy, in the YEP fanzone: "It's time for LU to fulfil their destiny on the way to their rightful place among the elite."

And Mr Wilkinson and Mr Davey for last week's (Letters to the Sports Editor, May 28) yawn-inducing comments about the 15-point deduction etc.

It's time to move on lads. You didn't get your points back, for whatever reason. Every team in every league is where it deserves to be, therefore you are in your rightful place.
