I'm sure regular readers of this page detected my anxiety a couple of weeks ago, with regard to Brent Webb's new deal and the lack of news.
My fears, however, were to prove premature, with Rhinos' win against Wigan in the Challenge Cup topping a great week in which Webb re-signed for three more years.

It was wonderful to hear how settled he and his young family felt in our great city.

When Webb completes his new deal in 2011, he will be ranked as the club's greatest overseas signing.

Such talent is a rare commodity. Rhinos fans, enjoy every minute of it.

Simon Whitehead, Adel, Leeds

WELL done Leeds Rhinos! What a terrific effort against Wigan Warriors last Saturday – almost back to the high standard of the Roy Francis era.

But why are we signing Danny Buderus when Matt Diskin is playing out of his skin?

Also, surely it's time for a change of commentators at the BBC. Ray French is getting as bad as Eddie Waring with his misidentification of players, the voice of Jonathan Davies grates on the senses and the whole programme is anchored by a woman; not a good image for a real man's game.

Let's have some new faces (or voices) on the box – but please not Robbie Paul!

JOHN HARTLEY, West Park Crescent, Roundhay, Leeds

WELL done to all concerned in getting Brent Webb to renew his contract with the Rhinos and the icing on the cake is we have got him for three years.

This signing is a massive building block to go with the other players who are staying. On paper we have a very strong side for years to come, plus the added bonus of some great academy talent which we have all seen this season.

This Rhinos side is playing with much skill and confidence – it is not far short of being one of the best ever.

Malcolm Hogg, New Farnley, Leeds 12
