Why did we ever put faith in New Labour?

OVER 11 years ago the people voted Labour into power, thinking they would be treated fairly by a chap called Tony Blair and his sidekick Mr Brown.
But from day one I did not trust them, I thought Tony spoke with a forked tongue. I think I have been proved right.

This country under their management is in disarray. So badly in debt they have had to change the rules, so that they can borrow ev
en more money. Of course, the price of oil gets the blame, but why did they not concentrate on other forms of energy years ago, instead of pretending to get interested now when it is too late.

The Arab countries, including so-called friendly allies, saw us coming. They brought our know-how very cheaply and got educated here, bought the latest weapons from us and America. Now they have tightened the screw and are making us pay dearly for the black liquid.

This inept Government of ours fell for it hook, line and sinker, and of course the same goes for our gas supplies – foreign reliance again. Initially the Government were not bothered because the more energy costs went up the more taxes we all have to stump up. But it has now finally bit them back because the voters are not just walking away from Labour, they are running away and is there any wonder?

This credit crunch is hitting everyone, but our well-off MPs and the very rich will be able to ride out the storm! We are in a recession and it will get worse before it gets better. All of this could have been avoided if Blair and co had have thought more about this country instead of themselves.

And of course, the Olympic Games was going to cost a mere £11bn, then £20bn. You can bet it will be at least £35-40bn before it ends, trying to beat China's show like all previous countries. This kind of money is gross when we are in such financial difficulties and there are people starving all over the world.

These are the facts we have to face, sorry to be so sombre.
